All Welcome! Whilst we’re called Planet “Sutherland”, the name was chosen specifically to convey the need to

Think Global, Act Local.

We are keen to collaborate with anyone interested in working towards a greener future for our Highlands and Islands Communities, those throughout Scotland and beyond. All are welcome.

The Facebook Group is very active sharing hints and tips on climate and environmentally friendly info from gardening to waste saving and plastic saving ideas. News and events info on our own events and events that are being run by other’s is easily shared here.

Our twitter page is a great place to see what’s going on in the area, to share news articles and events and connect with business and other groups.

Google Email Groups make it easy to send emails to a group of people without disclosing email addresses in public. Here we share local info and interesting news articles. You can also use this option as a Web forum.

We aim to produce a newsletter once a month. It contains information about what we’ve been up to, our plans, climate action hints and tips and highlighted info from other groups.

The calendar lists our own events and other local events. The page also lists excellent web sites with event listing.

Highlands and Islands Polytunnel Chat Group

Following a well attended and interesting talk and chat on the technical aspects of polytunnels, a new chat group was created. It’s purpose primarily is to help each other decide on which polytunnel to buy, the best layouts, how to choose bases and anchor options, skins, staging etc. We’ll also talk about growing, no doubt and we’re forming a “build squad” to help each other get tunnels up quickly and improve build skills. Join the polytunnel chat group here.
